Performing Arts Programme

Our Performing Arts classes offer a fun and inspiring space to explore singing, acting, and dance all in one session. Designed to nurture creativity and confidence, these classes encourage young performers to express themselves fully while developing essential skills across multiple disciplines.

Acting

Each week, students explore a wide range of performance mediums including storytelling, role-play, script work, improvisation, devising, and acting for camera. Children will also have the opportunity to experiment with different styles such as mime, physical theatre  and explore the techniques  of renowned theatre practitioners.

Singing

In our singing classes, children learn key techniques such as breath control, vocal projection, and acting through song, all designed to strengthen both their vocal ability and stage presence. Each class begins with a thorough vocal warm-up, followed by learning a song together as an ensemble.

Students explore a mix of pop and musical theatre pieces, helping them expand their vocal repertoire and develop versatility. Children are given the opportunity to perform solos or sing in small groups, encouraging confidence and celebrating every child’s unique voice in a positive, supportive environment.

Street Dance

Our Street Dance class gets kids moving with energy, style, and confidence.

Each session begins with learning street dance and hip hop foundations, building strength, coordination, and rhythm.

Dancers then put their new skills together in a fun, upbeat routine that develops musicality and performance quality.

Customise your own programme

At Onyx, we believe every child's journey is unique. Whilst we recommend our full programmes to provide the most comprehensive and well-rounded training, we understand that every child has different interests, aspirations and goals.

Our flexible programmes allow families to create a training pathway that's right for their child. Children may choose to focus on a single discipline or combine classes across our programmes to create a bespoke timetable.

For example, your child may wish to study Ballet from our Dance Programme, alongside Acting and Street Dance from our Performing Arts Programme. Whether they choose one class or a combination of disciplines, we'll help create a programme that nurtures their confidence, creativity and development.

If you're unsure which pathway is best suited to your child, we'd be delighted to discuss the options and help you build a programme tailored to their interests and goals.
